Why a Pen Name?

There a least a few reasons why prefer use a pen name rather than my real name. First off those who know me know my real name to begin with. On this blog if they don't mind I would prefer that they use my pen name. If it's too complicated they can just use an abbreviation like Ps or something similar or equally creative.

My first major reason is that in the past I had a problem with someone trying to steal my identity. Thus far I haven't had any negative consequences although I've had to spend an amount of money that on my budget is significant for insurance. Second, I have debated whether to have a password-protected blog or not in terms of those who can view it. I decided to leave it accessible to all. That way relatives and friends who find my blog don't have complications. In addition if I post any information that might be useful to others that happen to drop by it will be available to them as well.

Some of the technology people I listen to express one concern. When something is posted it can be considered permanent. I don't quite understand how this works. I just don't want any more personal information than people already know causing complications down the road from things I have written on the Internet.

Music I Enjoy

I'm going to give some examples of music I enjoy listening to. It's hard to describe. There was a time when it was more popular but now it is not a very well known. The music I enjoy listening to the most frequently is called "New Age". This music can be mellow and slow or fast and energetic and sounding very complicated with a lot in the detail in the background. The first artist I'm going to list is Medwyn Goodall. Here is the link to the website on Amazon on the particular album of his that I own. It has samples towards the bottom of that page that you can listen to the samples to get an idea of what it sounds like. That way you can hear them without me breaking the law trying to share his music with you.

As you might know or will soon find out, finding good music can be quite hard. Sometimes I have to purchase an album and only use the good parts and put the CD on the shelf. This allows me to legally use the music. From that C.D I've only copied those songs that are uplifting and are of interest to me on my computer. This next one is one of those albums. Please listen to the samples number one number five and number seven of Close Your Eyes and See. All of the others are not that great to me. One of my favorites is the song "Gaia". This one is also a good example of how you can have many details going on in the background. I really enjoy music like this.

I had an opportunity ond3 to record my music composition in a recording studio. Even though it's just one song we spent six hours on it! From that experience I learned how tracks were laid one on top of each other one at a time. This ends up creating a lot of detail in the background.

Acoustic Achemy is a group I have really enjoyed and have listened to since my early teens. It was a group started out of England. They combine acoustical guitar that's amplified along with synthesis and special percussion. I'm featuring two albums here that I really enjoy. Natural elements album has a few tracks that I really enjoy waking up to.

I really enjoy the track "Take Five" in the album Reference Point. I have several Acoustic Alchemy albums.

There are other kinds of music I enjoy beside new age. I tend to like music without words. My hearing is not great and I don't want to buy something and discover later is has bad suggestive words later. Rodrigo Y Gabriela is very energetic!

I do have exceptions where there are words sometimes in English and sometimes in other languages. Deep Forest is a group that tends to take local aspects of culture like tribal chants etc. and put them to music. That's what they did in their album Deep Forest, If I understand it correctly, they took African tribal chants and put them to music. New Age music connects to related music that tends to be multicultural. I also have Comparsa

I will list more artists or albums I like here for you to discover. The EKO Logical album is another multicultural influenced album. I have most of EKO's albums. Blue Knights Blue Night has a Jazz flavor to the music. If you like it check out their other albums.
